Q: How long have you been in business?
A: Primary Billing Service, Inc. has been in business for over 16 years.
Q: Why should I use Primary Billing Service, Inc. to do my billing instead of hiring someone to work in my office to do the billing?
A: Primary Billing Service, Inc. has trained professionals that will work on your account. One of the main issues that we have seen are offices hire inexperienced people to work on their account in an effort to save money. This ends up costing more money in the long run due to lost revenue because of lack of knowledge of industry rules and regulations. We educate our clients regarding new rules and developments in the healthcare insurance industry while keeping them compliant with all laws and regulations in this field. We don't get paid unless you do so we are more motivated to collect on your outstanding claims and patient balances. There are many hidden costs associated with having an in office employee such as sick time, vacation time, paid holidays, workers compensation insurance, etc. Of course, you will pay none of these added expenses if you outsource your billing to us.
Q: Where will my payments be sent?
A: All payments are sent directly to the Doctor.
Q: Will I have access to my patient accounts so I can see what is happening with my billing?
A: Yes, you will have access to all of your patient accounts and be able to view our notes that we enter when working on collections of your accounts. In addition, you will have access to our on-line appointment scheduling software. You will also be able to run many reports to track production, collections, and comparison with prior months/years.
Q: Do you have references that I can contact?
A: Yes, we have many references available for you to contact. Please phone Liz at (800) 539-9945 Ext 106 and she will provide you with a list references. Also, please look at our testimonial page.
Q: Do I have to sign a contract and if so, how long is the contract for?
A: Yes, all of our clients sign a Billing Service Agreement and the agreement is for one year and renews annually automatically.
Q: What do I need to do to get started?
A: Please see our training section on this website by clicking here for details on what we will need to get started.
Q: How long will it take before you are able to start sending in my claims to insurance companies?
A: That depends. Many insurance companies can set us up to submit electronic claims for you immediately. Medicare and Medi-Cal can take up to a month or more to link your provider number to my submitter number so that we can start submitting electronic claims for you. It is important to fill out these agreements as soon as possible so we can expedite the set up process for electronic claims.
Q: Who can I contact to get additional information?
